Sorry for the wordiness of this comic.

I am very grateful to the person who donated the blood I received. I was in pretty bad shape after the surgery. I kid you not, one of my IV blowouts happened when they were inserting the IV for my transfusion. I wasn't looking and suddenly felt cool liquid running over my hand and knew right away they had screwed up again.

About the tramp stamp comment: when they take bone marrow they make needle pokes in the small of your back that leave big dots. Ben had six of these.

On a more serious note, donating blood or marrow does save lives and if you can I would highly suggest doing it. We learned a lot when Ben did his donation and I'm hoping in a year I can be put on the list to donate. We've known people personally who have benefited from these procedures and it's amazing how such a little sample can do so much.

Here are some links for more info about bone marrow and blood donation, and if you have any questions about bone marrow donation feel free to email me.

Hope you all have a great weekend!

Cool! I've only donated once so that means I'm at net zero with the system. I'm hoping I'll be able to donate in a year, but it depends since I'm battling bad anemia.
